Music
Music for Catholic mass ceremony by Pure Faith Melodies:
Pure Faith Melodies began as a church choir group from Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Edinburg, Texas. Nonetheless, the group was contracted into providing ceremony music for upcoming weddings at their parish and soon after different parishes throughout the Valley. The musical group consists of four individuals: 1 violinist, 1 guitarist, 2 vocalists: 1 male and our very own Princee Mares as the female vocalist. A list of sample songs can be provided to the bride and groom for final selections. We are responsible in complying with only songs that have been pre-approved by the Diocese of Brownsville and participating priests.
The ceremony song list includes three pieces while guests arrive. The bridal party is usually accompanied with the song selections of Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring (JS Bach) or Canon in D (Pachelbel). The bride's entrance is most traditionally the Bridal Wedding March by Mendelssohn. Furthermore, in preparation of gifts, the song for offertory is performed followed by the communion hymn. The Presentation to Mary is very common for our culture, where the couple walks to the statue of Mary with flowers. For this custom, Schubert's Ave Maria by instrumentalists alone or accompanied with a vocalist is the perfect touch. Finally, the couple exits the church with the Wagner's Bridal Chorus as the most requested recessional.
Pure Faith Melodies is familiar and prepared with all the mass parts of which include:
Kyrie [Lord Have Mercy]; Gloria; Alleluia; Holy; Memorial Acclamation; Great Amen, Agnus Dei [Cordero de dios/Lamb of God]
